UGA offer 'Excites' 4-Star OL

Georgia wanted to offer him in person. The Dawgs got the four-star offensive lineman on campus Wednesday, then offered, and the prospect that grew up a fan of UGA left Athens excited...

Many of the top football players in the state of Georgia grew up following the Bulldogs as kids.

New UGA target Andrew Thomas is one of those.

He has been following and cheering for the Dawgs for years and he now has a chance to play between the hedges one day.

"I visited Georgia today and Mark Richt offered me a scholarship," said Thomas. "It is an exciting feeling for me and it was a great visit."

The 6-foot-4, 288 pound offensive tackle out of Atlanta (Ga.) Pace Academy has now been on the UGA campus twice. He camped there for Dawg Day a year ago in July, then today he got some face-to-face time with the Georgia staff.

Georgia is definitely on his mind now.

"I wasn't really sure what type of interest in Georgia had in me, but I know now," said Thomas. "I got an offer, they are close to home, it is an SEC school, and I have always liked Georgia."

When asked about his ability on the offensive line, Thomas said his length and footwork are strengths.
