Chubb Takes It Easy in Scrimmage Again

ATHENS - Star tailback Nick Chubb had a light workload carrying the ball Saturday.

After not having an attempt a week earlier, he rushed three times for 10 yards and a touchdown while focused on third down work.

Brendan Douglas and A.J. Turman each had 22 carries.

Turman, sidelined last season after foot surgery, went with the second team offense and rushed for 140 yards and two touchdowns including a 40-yard score.

“He’s running the ball well, he really is,” Richt said. “Brendan had a nice day. There was some tough yardage here and there. …Most of the yards were pretty hard-earned yards.”

Douglas rushed for 99 yards and a touchdown with the first team.

“I’m going to be a little sore tomorrow,” said Douglas. “Just get in the cold tub and rest up my body these next two days and get ready for practice on Tuesday.”

Sony Michel (shoulder) and Keith Marshall (hamstring) remain out.
