A: I think there’s a lot of competition. Everyone keeps asking me the quarterback question – everyone I know. Obviously I don’t know the answer to that and I’m sure coaches are struggling with that, too, because they’re all really talented. I think at every position we’ve got a lot of veterans and a lot of young guys that can compete and we’ll probably have some freshmen start, maybe.
Q: Does having to practice the week after G Day make the spring game any less climactic?
A: Well, you’re asking the wrong guy because as a kicker I kind of like practice because I like kicking and I love the pressure and I love being outside so I don’t mind it. Some of the other guys – I don’t know.
Q: What are some things you’ve been working on this offseason personally?
A: I guess just getting smooth with our unit because it’s me and Nathan (Theus), but we’ve got a new holder, which is Faton (Bauta).
Just getting smooth, I guess. Getting timing down.
Q: How has Bauta been doing with the new responsibility?
A: He’s been doing good. It’s just kind of tough to get reps with him all practice because he’s got one of the most important jobs on the team.
Q: What’s different for you this spring as opposed to ones in the past?
A: It’s my last spring so I guess it’s flying by. It’s been a great ride and I’m looking forward to my last fall here.
Q: What are your plans for the summer?
A: I’m going to stay here in May and probably work out. I’m going to stay here obviously in July and just keep grinding hard.
