Georgia Offer Could Be Game-Changer

Miami offered Wednesday. Florida State offered a couple of weeks ago. Could Georgia be next? This hybrid grew up in Peach State, he is a big UGA fan, and if the Dawgs offer, it will change things for him...

Florida State is his leader today, April 22.

The big thing there is, the Seminoles have offered Robert Beal.

The 6-foot-3, 214 pound sophomore out of Norcross, Ga. would love to have an offer from the school a guy (Lorenzo Carter) he looks up to plays at, that is Georgia.

"Awe man, if Georgia offered me, it would mean the world to me," said Beal. "I grew up a big Georgia fan and my dad did too. I am from Georgia and I have been watching them for a long time -- if they offered me, they would be up there with Florida State.

"It would really change things for me. Right now, FSU is No. 1 and it is really nobody after them, but if Georgia offers, they will be right up there right away."

Beal is hearing from Georgia. He was on their campus not too long ago and he actually spoke with his former teammate at Norcross, Lorenzo Carter. After Beal watched Carter in a UGA scrimmage, Carter spent time with the rising junior.

"I did not really know Lorenzo that well when he was at Norcross because I was only in ninth grade, but we talked when I visited Georgia. He just told me how it was at Georgia, that he loved it there, and how UGA should be offering me soon."

Beal hopes Carter is right about that offer.

Miami was at Norcross Wednesday and the Hurricanes offered. Alabama, Florida State, Illinois, Nebraska, and a few others have already pulled the trigger as well.

Could the Dawgs offer soon?

"Georgia is an offer I really want," said Beal. "They have not said much too much yet, so it is hard to know how interested they are in me right now. I just know they are coming to see me during spring practice."

The star Blue Devil really liked what he saw in Athens, Ga. during the scrimmage. He saw live what he has been seeing on T.V. in recent years and that is something that really appeals to him.

"I really like how Georgia plays together as a team. I see that every play, every rep, every game, and I really like that. I want to play for a team like that."
