Clark the First of Several Dominoes?

Georgia got another top-level defensive lineman commitment on Friday night.

4-star Americus-Sumter DL Tyler Clark, considered the No. 175 overall player in the country, picked Georgia over Auburn. "I grew up a Georgia fan and my parents are Georgia fans,” Clark said. “Coach Rocker is the best coach ever. I like how he coaches and how much he knows about the game. Off the field he is cool, but on the field he means business.” The question at this point is if Clark is just one of four high-level defensive linemen that will pick the Bulldogs. That’s something that is very possible according to National Recruiting Analyst Chad Simmons. “The 2016 class in Georgia is loaded with top defensive linemen,” Simmons said, pointing out that 5-star Lanier DL Derrick Brown, 4-star DL Julian Rochester, Cedar Grove DL Antwuan Jackson, 4-Star Jackson Michail Carter and Clark are all from the Peach State. Six of the top 300 players in America in this recruiting cycle are defensive lineman from Georgia. “Half a dozen defensive linemen in Georgia have over 20 scholarship offers,” Simmons said. “Georgia is going hard after the best in its home state.” Simmons said Georgia could be getting on a recruiting roll with in-state defensive linemen thanks to the kickstart from Clark. “Clark is the first of what I think is going to be many in-state defensive linemen to commit to Georgia,” Simmons said. “Could Julian Rochester be next? He is a top 50 kid in the country and he openly states Georgia leads. We are know where Derrick Brown stands - Georgia is on top there too. If the dominos fall like expected Georgia could have an epic defensive line haul in 2016 just with kids in their home state.”
