2017 Aquinas WR Justin Gibbs talks about recruiting, 7-on-7 and his thoughts on the MVP Camp.

Matt DeBary meets with Justin Gibbs about his summer of football so far.

Justin how are you doing today?

“I’m doing pretty good, just getting a feel for the competition here today.”

How was your experience at the 7-on-7 tournaments in Athens?

“My team did really good. We were out their competing with some big time schools, and we went 4-1. I feel like I did pretty well. I made the game-winning touchdown against Tucker. My quarterback is here, so we’ll see how we do today.”

Describe some of your strengths and weaknesses as a receiver?

“Weaknesses, I think I have to get a lot faster. My strengths, I think I’ve gotten a lot better catching the ball. I’ve been really working on my hands recently.”

“Did you talk to any of the coaches while you were there?

“I talked to coach Schottenheimer. He said we will stay in touch. I’ll give him a call sometimes and let him know when I come visit.

Any visits coming up?

“After July 12th I should be headed back to Mississippi State and keep in touch with my wide receivers coach. I have an offer from them.”

Any other offers?

“I should be getting one from Louisiana and Cincinnati. I like those coaches too.”

What do you like about Mississippi State?

“They are very family oriented. Everyone knows each other and it’s just a big community. Everyone has each other’s back.”

Any dream offers out there?

“My top three are Florida, Georgia and Mississippi State. Mississippi State is number one right now.”
