"I will be enrolling at the University of Georgia," he tweeted. "I will be reporting on August 2nd. I would like to thank Ohio State and all of the other schools that gave me the opportunity to come play for them throughout this crazy process. Excited to start this journey to the next chapter of my life."
The 6-5, 285-pound lineman signed with Ohio State, but didn't enroll with the Buckeyes "due to a reported academic issue," according to Scout.com
But that issue appears resolved now. Jurkovic's father, Mirko, Sr., was an All-American at Notre Dame on the Irish's 1988 national title team. He passed away two years ago. The Irish were pursuing Jurkovic before he settled on Georgia.
Jurkovic started his high school career only a few miles from Notre Dame, but transferred to IMG Academy in Florida, where his recruitment took off. He will get a chance to play against his father's alma mater in 2017 and 2019 in contests between the two schools.
