— Speaking of family being important, that is the case for Rashan Gary... His trip was outstanding... So many UGA commits talked with him about Athens and he was even asking UGA targets what they like about UGA. His mother was once again, very impressed... She is very important here. I have put this in other notes, but she REALLY likes Georgia. I have ben told UGA may now be here "favorite" school for Rashan... Her brother lives in Anderson, S.C., so having Rashan near him only helps the Dawgs.
— 2017 RB Trey Sermon is a BIG target for the Dawgs and he had a strong camp Saturday. I love that he competed. For me, he was the No. 3 RB that night BASED ON WHAT I SAW THERE behind Anthony McFarland and Cam Akers. Sermon loves Thomas Brown and Sermon knows he is a top priority. Do not expect a decision any time soon by the top 50 prospect, but do expect him in Athens quite often this fall.
— There have been questions and some chatter about just where Houston County ATH Darion Anderson is with UGA... Still at this time, all seems to be good between him and UGA. He had MCL surgery, so he has been out this summer and rehabbing to get back this fall. He has not camped at UGA, he has not been at UGA this summer, and he does very little media, so there has been chatter about him and UGA parting ways... I have not heard it at this time. UGA liked Anderson a lot early on, especially his versatility, so this is something we will monitor, but for now, nothing I have heard leads me to believe UGA is moving on.
— Let me go back to the 2015 class for a minute — Trenton Thompson was the man of that class and he is helping with this class, too. He is going to make a BIG impact in 2015 on the field, but these recruits of 2016 LIKE HIM A LOT and very much know who he was as a prospect last year. Rashan Gary, Julian Rochester, Tyler Clark, Antwaun Jackson, and others, like Kyle Davis spend time with him as soon as he shows up at these UGA camps. Thompson has worked extremely hard and is in the best shape I have seen him in the 3.5 years I have known him. He is still "Jolly", his nickname and he is helping UGA in a big way on/off the field.
