With that said, UGA is in the driver's seat here... Like I have said before, HE IS A TAKE AT ANY TIME, so no need to worry about the numbers... UGA wants Nauta... If Georgia gets Nauta, Walston, and Woerner, they may not sign another TE until 2018. Ha.
If there is a school to watch RIGHT NOW other than Georgia, it is Michigan. Remember, he is from the midwest, he likes Harbaugh, Harbaugh has the NFL ties, and that school is really on his radar.
Do not expect Nauta to go and commit to someone next week or even next month, so look for him to now take his OVs, then make a decision later in the process. He is now in no hurry to put his name on another commitment list he tells me.
DAWGS LEAD BIG right now.
Expect to hear some news on a UGA target in the very near future. I think things on the recruiting side slow down a good bit the next couple of weeks as fall camp gets going on the college side and high school kids get back in school, but there will be news — good news for UGA.
Cannot say too much on it right now, but just look for some news pertaining to a Dawg target soon.
WR Numbers... It got a little more tricky with Nauta back on the market, but NOTHING has changed...
What about Tyler Simmons? Hearing mixed reports here... He is planning to release his final list of schools soon and I expect UGA to be on it, but would UGA take him as a WR, or maybe an ATH if he wanted to commit?
It will get interesting here before all is said and done, but the BIG THREE listed above ALL will have spots as long as they are unsigned.
Hearing stuff on 2017 RB Anthony McFarland that there have been talks about him committing to Georgia as early as this fall... He says publicly that he does not plan to make a decision until next year at an AA game, but I am hearing differently.
He is at a top program in DeMatha, he LOVES Georgia, and whether he commits in Sept. 2015 or Jan. 2016, the Dawgs look VERY good right now.
Expect 5-star Mecole Hardman to release a favorites list soon — of course UGA will be on it. He is likely going to list 8-10 schools, but we know he is not considering that many.
He has talked behind the scenes with other players about his favorite and it is the school you are typing about on this forum right now.
American Heritage (Fla.) 2016 DE/Hybrid Brian Burns is THE target for Georgia at that position.
Jordan Smith was up there at one time until UGA starting getting the vibe that they were really up there for Burns.
As expected, 4-star RB Carlin Fils-Aime has knocked UGA off his list after the visit to Athens...
He is likely to decide next week, or shortly thereafter.
Georgia has clearly made 4-star in-state RB Elijah Holyfield their target.
