Isaiah Wynn Settles in at Guard

ATHENS - Isaiah Wynn is positioned to be Georgia’s starting left guard after flip-flopping with Brandon Kublanow who is now at center.

Yes, he acknowledges, there’s less pressure not having to play center and didn’t seem bothered by the switch. The sophomore from St. Petersubrg, Fla., had some snapping issues this spring, including sailing a ball over the quarterback during the spring game.

Now he’s poised to be part a starting unit that returns four starters.

“We have a lot of vets on the O-line,” Isaiah Wynn said. “Just walking into that position is great.”

This and that

Georgia is ranked No. 11 in Sports Illustrated's preseason top 25.

Offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer hasn’t met with reporters yet this preseason but said in a UGA release Wednesday night that “some of the young receivers have shown the ability to not only make plays, but pick up the system, and that’s important.”

The team holds its third preseason practice Thursday.
