Georgia has not worn an alternate jersey since the 2011 season opener against Boise State, a game the Bulldogs lost. The last three times Georgia has worn an alternate jersey, the team has lost. The Bulldogs lost to Florida in 2009 wearing a black helmet and black pants, and the Bulldogs lost to Alabama in 2008 when they wore black jerseys.
Despite numerous other teams busting out alternate uniforms, Georgia has stuck to its traditional red and white uniforms.
“We like our traditional look for sure,” Richt said. “Teams do it which is fine and I’m sure we’ll do it again before it is all over, someday.”
