UGA Opens as 16-pt Favorite over Cocks

ATHENS - Georgia’s second SEC game of the year, against South Carolina, should be an easy win.

At least according to the oddsmakers in Las Vegas. The Bulldogs opened as 15.5-point favorites and moved to a 16-point favorite soon thereafter Sunday afternoon. The Bulldogs have lost four of their last five contests to the Gamecocks.

But South Carolina comes into the game limping after falling to Kentucky Saturday night. Another SEC loss for the Gamecocks would likely eliminate them from the SEC race.

The Bulldogs have been near two-touchdown favorites three times in the last 16 years over South Carolina and won all contests. The Bulldogs covered in 1999 (24-9; Spread was -14) and 2003 (31-7; Spread was -13), but failed to cover in 2005 (17-15; Spread was -17).
