“I’ll have a lot of people in the stands on both sides, Georgia and Florida fans,” Theus said. “It’s always fun to go back home. I love that place. It’s always a special feeling when I get to play in that stadium.”
He joked his “claim to fame” is having a tackle in his first two Florida games.
“One year, I think Aaron (Murray) threw a pick,” he said. “One year Artie (Lynch) dropped that one ball and he thought it was incomplete.”
Older brother Nathan, Georgia’s long snapper, also will play in his fifth game in Jacksonville for the Bulldogs. He played in his first on the kick return unit.
“You definitely try to take it in a little bit longer and enjoy it a little bit longer for sure being the last one,” said Nathan Theus, a redshirt senior.
John Theus has gone to Jacksonville Jaguars games in his hometown.
“I love the Jaguars,” he said of the 2-5 NFL team. “It’s tough to be a Jags fan right now, but I am a loyal Jags’ fan.”
