“Is Keith still playing?” Georgia Tech coach Paul Johnson joked Monday when asked if he would welcome Marshall to his house for Thanksgiving since his brother Marcus is a Georgia Tech freshman running back.
“We haven’t seen him. He hasn’t played much. I thought he might be hurt or something.”
Marshall said Monday night “I’m good. I got banged up a couple of weeks ago but I’m fine.”
He didn’t play in his final home game against Georgia Southern, days after it was announced that Marshall had decided to end his college career after the season and take a shot at making an NFL roster. He could have applied for a medical redshirt after playing in only three games last season due to a knee injury after sustaining a torn ACL in 2013.
Marshall’s parents talked about what their son would do but left it up to Keith since he will have to live with it.
“I’m going to take that next step in life and see where that goes,” said Marshall, who is graduating next month and said he made the decision “a couple of months ago.”
