UGA Richt Shrugs Off Questions on His Future

ATHENS - Georgia coach Mark Richt twice brushed off questions from reporters about his future at Georgia.

“My focus is beating Georgia Tech right now,” he said after both questions on Tuesday.

Beating the Yellow Jackets is something the long-time coach has done very well in his previous 14 meetings. Richt is 12-2 against the Bulldogs’ in-state foes. The Bulldogs are currently listed as five-point favorites to win in Atlanta this weekend.

Richt asked reporters: “Who made you ask that question?” after being asked about his future.

The Bulldogs are 8-3 on the season, but it has been a disappointing year - particularly on offense where production has fallen by nearly two touchdowns a game. The termination of Richt’s contract, with buyouts for assistant coaches included, would be about $8 million according to the most-recent contracts that have been signed.
