“It's up in the air right now for him,” Richt said Tuesday.
McKenzie missed practice Monday but he was supposed to get a look Tuesday afternoon in practice from director of sports medicine Ron Courson. Georgia’s practices are closed to the media this week.
“We'll see what he does,” Richt said beforehand. “I think Ron is going to get him out there and see how he's doing and then make a determination, if he practices, and if so, how much of the practice he'll go.”
McKenzie the past two games has scored on touchdown runs on speed sweeps of 4 and 23 yards and returned a punt 53 yards for a touchdown. He also fumbled on a reception that Georgia Southern returned 62 yards for a touchdown. “ He's kind of been feast or famine,” Richt said. “He's had some great returns. He's had some great runs and then of course the fumble that cost the touchdown could have — I mean, was a big factor in the game.”
