UGA Recruiting Updates: Tuesday Night Updates

ATHENS - Kirby Smart continued his whirlwind week of recruiting on Tuesday. See notes inside on who he talked to and what’s going on.

UGA commit Chad Clay posted an image with Smart and Thomas Brown on Tuesday night to his twitter account. That seems to clear up any ambiguity about if Clay will, in fact, stick with the Bulldogs and enroll early this January.

For the most part Smart has only me in person with early enrollees like Jacob Eason and Ben Cleveland. He’s left meeting other recruits to assistant coaches or other UGA staffers like Todd Hartley.

Smart returned from a visit to 5-star QB Jacob Eason in Washington during the last 24 hours. Chad Simmons reports: “I am still hearing things are solid for UGA with Eason right now.”

Eason and his parents are scheduled to officially visit Georgia this weekend.

Derrick Brown also spoke with Smart on Tuesday, he indicated on twitter. Brown tweeted: "Good talk with Coach Smart."

Other Tuesday night notes/updates from Chad Simmons…

1. Todd Hartley was at Jackson HS Tuesday morning early, then UGA was back there again to see Michail Carter's sister play basketball. I expect Carter to choose Alabama or Georgia right now... Clemson is third.

2. Demetris Robertson REALLY likes Glenn Shumann... DRob said, "That is my boy. I know him well and he is a great guy." It is CLEAR that he is high on Kirby's personal list. Look for DRob in Athens January.

3. Mecole Hardman Jr. says he has talked to Kirby a "couple of times" now... I asked what Kirby's message is to him so far, Hardman Jr said, "He tells me to just stay home and play ball for Georgia." He said Kirby does not know where he wants him yet regarding offense or defense.

4. Lyndell "Mack" Wilson is planning to take an official visit to Georgia in January. He loves Kirby. Will be one to watch in January once he makes it to Athens.
