Profile 2002 - Mike Williams (WR)

Yet another blue chip wide receiver from the state of Florida is Tampa Plant's Mike Williams.

"I have scholarship offers from Florida, FSU, Georgia, Purdue, Virginia, Clemson, North Carolina, Virginia Tech and Southern Cal," said Williams. "Right now, I like Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Purdue, Clemson, North Carolina, Southern Cal and Virginia Tech. I have official visits set up to Virginia (12-8) and Southern Cal (12-19). I am looking at player togetherness and depth charts."

Last season as a junior, Williams caught 19 passes for 826 yards and 12 touchdowns. So far this year, he has 2 receptions for 50 yards. Defensively, he has 8 tackles and 1 interception.

"Most schools are recruiting me as a wide receiver. I think I am a physical player and that just makes plays."

Williams camped this summer at Clemson and Florida State. He has a 38-inch vertical jump.
