ATHENS - News and notes from Friday's bowl practices.

With quarterback Faton Bauta leaving the team with intentions of transferring, Georgia now lists punter Collin Barber as the new holder on field goals and extra points.

Penn State linebacker Jason Cabina to reporters Friday on Georgia’s offense:   “ They're a smash mouth football team. That's the kind of teams we like to play. That's our game. We're really excited. In terms of Sony (Michel), obviously he's a 1,000-yard rusher, and that says a lot. It's going to be a unique challenge.”

Inside linebacker Ryne Rankin missed his second practice in a row after leaving Thursday’s early with an undisclosed injury. Freshman wide receiver Jayson Stanley also didn’t practice.
