Tuesday marked the seventh scheduled practice as the Bulldogs (9-3) prepare for the 2016 TaxSlayer Bowl against Penn State (7-5) slated for Jan. 2 in Jacksonville. Georgia will reconvene at the bowl site on Sunday.
Georgia’s interim head coach Bryan McClendon said he was pleased with how the team has focused on fundamentals during their workouts here. Following a few days off, they aim to focus on making UGA the best it can be in Jacksonville when it battles Penn State.
“Today was about working on the game plan and getting it down, and everybody was excited about finishing up here in Athens,” said McClendon. “We had seven good practices and we’ll be finalizing our plan when we get to Jacksonville.”
The Bulldogs will be looking to win 10 games in a season for the 22nd time in school history. The senior class enters the game with a 39-13 record. Georgia will be making its 51st appearance in a bowl game when it battles Penn State. The Bulldogs will be playing in a bowl for a school record 19th consecutive season.
