It did not take new UGA running back coach Dell McGee long to talk to Elijah Holyfield

Georgia has a new running back coach and his talk with a Bulldog recruit was with one of the top running backs in the country. What does Elijah Holyfield think about the hiring of McGee?

Elijah Holyfield saw Dell McGee on the sideline of his final high school when Woodward Academy played at Buford in the semi-finals about a month ago.

He had no ideo McGee would be his position coach at Georgia.

McGee was there to scout other players that night for Georgia Southern, with one of those being Holyfield's teammate and Georgia Southern commit, Jacob Robertson.

With McGee recruiting Robertson and being around Woodward Academy some over the last couple of years, the Georgia Bulldogs running back commit already had a feel for who his future running back is.

"I have known him because he has been by to recruit other players on my team, so I already knew him before we talked on the phone," said Holyfield.  "I talked to him Saturday night and he seems like a great guy.  He coached some great running backs at Georgia Southern.'

McGee was Scout's Sun Belt Recruiter of the Year in 2015 and his message to Holyfield, the No. 11-ranked running back on Scout was simple.  "He told me I am his guy he has always wanted and that he wants me to come in ready to play."

When asked what Holyfield thinks of McGee, the 5-foot-11, 204 pound senior said, "He seems like he is really chill, but on the field he demands a lot from his players, which I like."

Holyfield is scheduled to visit Georgia officially January 15.
