From Matt DeBary:
Under the radar 2017 prospects
Here are a few 2017 prospects whose recruitment could really pick up through the offseason and into next fall.
Jamar Hall, Safety, Mill Creek
Hall is a good looking safety prospect that really caught my eye when watching Elite Junior practice. Hall has great size at 6’2 190 lbs, and showed good ball skills during drills. His position coach told me he had a great few days of practice. One to keep an eye on.
De’morreal Burnam , ILB, Salem
Burnam is a prospect that I really liked back in the summer at the Lassiter MVP camp, and he looked impressive again last week. At 6’2, 221 lbs. Burnam looks impressive physically and moves very well. He was one of the bigger guys in the group, and looked the best during footwork drills as well. Burnam told me after the game he had 8 tackles during the Junior Elite Classic. Look for this sleeper 2017 prospect to gain more and more attention in the next couple months.
Xavier Jenkins, WR, Lowndes County
Jenkins might have been the most physically impressive receiver I saw during practice. He has good size, and showed a consistent ability to get open downfield. Didn’t light up the state sheet last season, but has the ability to have a monster senior year if he can get the opportunity. He is a prospect with good upside.
Brian Strozier, LB, Tucker
Strozier is a very strong and thick linebacker for the Tucker Tigers. The 6’1, 232 lb. linebacker has a big waist and large thighs that stand out immediately. He hits hard, and did a great job in run support during the Elite Junior Classic. Strozier has an offer from Colorado State and Louisville, with more offers on the way.
Quannie Green, WR, North Cobb
Green is an explosive athlete who plays on both sides of the ball for North Cobb. The playmaking junior scored ten times this fall for the Warriors, and has the speed to score on any play. The 5’10 184 lb. receiver has offers from Duke and Wake Forest at the moment.
