Top 2017 Recruit Keeping Options Open

Matt DeBary checks in with Deejay Dallas on his recruitment after de-committing from UGA.

Deejay Dallas is a four-star athlete who excels on both sides of the ball for his Glynn Academy team.  The 2017 playmaker led his team all the way to the state championship game, where they eventually lost by 4 points.

“It definitely keeps the fire going inside of me and makes me want to win it all even more next year”, Dallas said of his 2015 season.”

With all of the recent coaching changes going on at Georgia, Dallas decided it would be in his best interest to de-commit, and explore other options at this point in his recruitment.

“,Its been a weight off my shoulders but it’s still stressful.”  Dallas said.  “I’ve been out of the recruiting world for a little and now it’s all coming to me again.  Teams like Georgia Tech, Florida, Auburn, South Carolina, and Miami and still recruiting me really hard.  I should be taking visits to Michigan, Michigan State, and West Virginia pretty soon.”

There are still plenty of schools reaching out to the versatile athlete, and each school is recruiting him to another position.

“Clemson wants me at receiver” Dallas said.  “Georgia Tech is recruiting me at quarterback; Auburn is recruiting me as an athlete.  It’s a whole bunch of different stuff.”

Dallas did mention that although he de-committed after being one of the first 2017 commitments for Georgia’s class, the Bulldogs still have a chance to sign him.

“Of course Georgia is not out of it.”  Dallas said.  “In my announcement I wanted to make it known that even though I de-committed, that doesn’t take anything away from Georgia.  I think that players should have that trust feeling with the coaches, and some of the diehard fans don’t see the process like we do.  Georgia is still in it for sure though.”

There is a long way to go until Signing Day 2017, so the Bulldogs still have a great chance to land the athlete from Brunswick.
