Kirby Smart and Kevin Sherrer visited 4-star Clinch County DL and UGA commit Chauncey Manac on Wednesday. Manac had visited the Bulldogs over the weekend and was hosted by Davin Bellamy.
Chad Simmons is reporting that 3-star Lee County OL and UGA commit Chris Barnes is totally firm in his commitment to the Bulldogs. Lee had been considering visiting Florida on the last weekend of the recruiting season, but decided against it after a visit with Kirby Smart and Kevin Sherrer Tuesday night.
“I am all Dawg now,” Barnes told Simmons.
On the other hand, 3-star Creekside OL and UGA commit Aaron Dowdell and the Bulldogs might be moving away from one another.
“He has not been talked about too much the last month or so, but I am hearing some things here about how he may not end up at UGA,” Simmons said of Dowdell.
Dowdell affirmed his de-commitment from UGA on Wednesday night.
“I would like to thank everyone for (their) continuing support through my recruiting process. I have decided to (reopen) my recruitment, and decommit from the University of Georgia.”
Sam Pittman is moving quickly to recruit as many offensive line prospects as possible. enter Florida commit and 3-star Cocoa (FL) OL Jawaan Taylor.
According to Scout’s Corey Bender: “Taylor was previously committed to Miami, but flipped once the lifelong favorite Florida Gators offered him before the New Year. I asked him if he planned to take an official visit to UGA, but says he's ‘not sure yet.’”
Scout 300 WR Tre Nixon is down to Auburn, Ole Miss and Georgia, and the Bulldogs are trending up according to Scout’s Trending Meter. Florida and Penn State are officially out. Scout’s Corey Bender reports: “Nixon, who's officially visiting Ole Miss this weekend, tells me also he's taking an official to Auburn on the 29th for his final official visit. UGA's in good position right now.”

As of January 12, 2016 - Not long after the announcement of Kirby smart taking over Georgia did David reveal the Dawgs were his new No. 1 school. Still, he is an Alabama legacy, so he will not be an easy pull out of the state of Alabama, but Georgia is a legit contender.
