What it means: Kirby Smart and Hunter are very tight. That Smart is now at Georgia made the decision to commit privately before Christmas an easy one for Hunter - now the entire world knows what those two have known for a month. Had Smart still been at Alabama this could have drug out for some time, and the Tide would have had a real advantage with Hunter.
Hunter is one of the top players in Georgia for the 2017 class. Pass rushers are so important in the SEC, and Hunter can do that already no matter his defensive position. This kid is super athletic. More than anything, Georgia is adding a legacy - both of his parents competed for UGA - who has the ability to be a playmaker for the Dawgs himself. And this young man has a real legacy to uphold with the Hunter name.
Hunter is likable and full of smiles. By committing this early he’s showing that he's a leader of sorts. Smart will encourage Hunter to use his personality to attract other top players to play in Silver Britches. You can already see that the top in-state players are sticking around to play for Kirby and the Dawgs, and that’s a good sign.

Chad Simmons says: Will Hunter be a rush end, a stand up linebacker, or a true linebacker that plays on the second level in college? That is still up in the air, but what is certain is he is a football player with a lot of athleticism. Really comes off the edge well as a pass rusher with quickness and anticipation. Can run with the running backs out of the backfield. Can mix it up physically. A very high ceiling for Hunter with his size/athleticism/toughness combo.
