Dawg Post Recruiting Insider Report

Dawg Post's recruiting update for Tuesday night.

It was a busy day on the recruiting trail with Georgia getting some significant good news.

Chad Simmons is reporting that Georgia’s Kirby Smart will get the final visit for 4-star defensive lineman Michail Carter. That comes after a busy week of visiting Alabama midweek. Carter is set of visit Georgia over the weekend.

Simmons said, however, that those two schools are trying to hold of Clemson.

“Clemson made a huge push,” Simmons reports. “Dabo Swinney had a great in-home visit with him. Don’t rule out Clemson. I am hearing right now that Clemson is right there with Georgia and Alabama. This might come down to how he fits in personally with the staff and the people.”

Georgia offered two out-of-state 2017 receivers on Tuesday. 4-star University Heights (OH) WR Jaylen Harris and 3-star Plain Dealing (LA) WR Keldrick Carper both picked up offers from Georgia. Ohio State seems to lead for Harris. Carper visited UGA for Dawg Night over the summer, and said he would like to visit Athens this spring.

4-star Archer OL E.J. Price announced that he will make his final college decision at 2:45 at his high school. He also confirmed that he will visit UGA over the weekend for his official visit.

Chad Simmons says to keep an eye two players possibly flipping to the Dawgs: Auburn commit and 3-star Upson-Lee DL David Marshall, as well as Florida commit and 4-star Park Crossing (AL) DB Jeawon Taylor.

“Taylor has a great relationship with Kirby Smart,” Simmons reports. “The same goes for Marshall. Both of those guys are on flip watch. Taylor goes to Gainesville this weekend, and that’s sort of make or break for Florida.”
