Dawg Post Recruiting Insider Report

Dawg Post’s recruiting report for Wednesday night.

Kirby Smart will have an in-home visit with 5-star Lanier DL Derrick Brown Thursday night. And that’s a critical visit because the Bulldogs are trying to hold off Auburn and an surging Tennessee, where Brown is scheduled to visit this weekend.

“There is a lot floating around right now surrounding Derrick Brown,” reports Chad Simmons. “Auburn is without a doubt the school being talked about the most with him, and they are the school probably trending the most in terms of buzz right now. It is going to be a very interesting week covering him. Both Auburn and Georgia are expected to see him Thursday.”

Chad Simmons reports that Kirby Smart will visit 5-star American Heritage DL Brian Burns Wednesday night. “FSU seems fairly confident they get him at this time,” Simmons reports. “UGA still in this; maybe Florida is not as high as some have thought. Georgia really impressed the family on the official visit, and Georgia is at least in the top two right now I am told.”

Davis Marshall, who is committed to Auburn, is still being worked over for a flip to the Bulldogs. “Tracy Rocker was back in Thomaston on Tuesday to check on David Marshall,” Simmons reports. “Auburn and Georgia still fighting for this one. I still like UGA here.”

From Simmons earlier today about 5-star ATH Demetris Robinson:

“Kirby Smart spent a lot of the afternoon/night in Savannah Tuesday.  He was at DRob's school, his basketball game, and his home.  Cal and GT also had coaches at his basketball game.  This is likely not going to end up around February 15 I am told.  UGA may get a visit from DRob after signing day where he gets more individual time.  The whole family is visiting GT this weekend.  Notre Dame will be in Thursday as I have posted already.  So, basically, DRob is NOT a week away, and all eyes will be on him post signing day.  The visit went well and the coach DRob has the best relationship with out of all of them is Glenn Schumann.  We will continue to track this 5-star.
