“Kirby Smart was the coach that offered me,” said 4-star GAC QB Davis Mills on Tuesday night. “He basically said that him and Coach Chaney loved me and wanted me to play for them.”
6-3, 188 pounds, Davis got to sit in on meetings and get a good feel for what UGA would offer in the future.
“During the visit I sat in QB meetings, then watched some workouts, and talked to coaches,” Mills said. “Coach Chaney is a great coach. The offensive schemes and plays he is running develops quarterbacks for the next level. What impressed me about Coach Chaney was very straightforward and honest he is.”
Mills said he will visit Stanford this weekend, but that the offer from the Bulldogs is a significant one.
“The Georgia offer is important because its a school I will be be considering,” he said. “Georgia has good academics, a good offensive scheme, and I like the proximity to home. This offer is not too late. I don’t plan on making my decision until around my spring football. I’ll consider all the schools still.”
Mills is considered the No. 101 overall prospect in the country for the class of 2017.
