Southern Hot 100 DT primed for Big Year.

Grayson defensive tackle Lorenzo Washington is poised to have a monster season. He has a laundy list of offers and two current leaders.

Grayson defensive lineman Lorenzo Washington is on the verge of a break out season. He had a solid year last year with70 tackles and 10 sacks, but he has taken his effort to another level this offseason. He is a member of the Southeastern Hot 100, and he could shoot up the charts this year with a big senior season. He was unstoppable at one camp he was at this summer, and he is coming into his own as he only started playing football in the eighth grade.

Washington is still just sixteen years old, and his shoe size matches his age. This is a prospect that has the potential to be special on the next level. Who are the lucky teams on his list right now?

"Alabama was my leader," said Washington, "but after the Georgia camp, I started liking them a lot too. Georgia and Alabama are tied for the lead right now. Then there is a next level of teams like North Carolina, South Carolina, Duke, Ohio State, Maryland, and Auburn. Ohio State, Maryland, and Auburn haven't offered me a scholarship yet, but I still like them, because they are good schools."

Washington has a strong family, and it's hard to picture him getting too far away from home, but he said that's not the case at all.

"No, actually it could be just the opposite. I would not mind getting out on my own a little bit. I mean Georgia is 30 minutes away, that would be cool if that happened, but I think it would be cool to go away for school too. I know I'm going to enjoy my college experience wherever I choose."

I know the college that lands him is going to be thrilled with the player and person they get, and right now, it's a Border War between Alabama and Georgia.
