Smart Confirms Ledbetter Suspension

ATHENS - UGA coach Kirby Smart confirmed that Jonathon Ledbetter will be suspended one game.

That comes after Ledbetter was arrested over the weekend for underage drinking.

“Jonathan made a huge mistake. He embarrassed himself, he embarrassed our team, his family and our family," Smart said Tuesday. "I’m really disappointed in Jonathan. He knows that we can’t have that behavior. You’re held to a higher standard when you come to the University of Georgia and he should know that.”

Smart went on to say that Ledbetter spoke with the team, and the he was "remorseful."

“A decision does not define him is what I told him. This poor decision he made does not define him. But he has got to take some corrective measures. We’ve got to get him some help and he’ll be punished internally as well," Smart said.
