Five UGA Targets to Watch

Chad Simmons breaks down five targets the Bulldogs are looking at hard right now.

Here are FIVE TOP 2017 TARGETS Georgia is in a very good spot for right now.

RB, Clinton (Miss.), Scout 100

Georgia is in a very good spot for Akers — most see the Dawgs as the leader at this time.  Akers continues to say he is not THAT close to a decision, but there is some chatter that, that may not be the case.  Akers talks with Dell McGee on a regular basis and it is believed that Akers is UGA's top RB target for 2017.  Expect Akers to be back in Athens this spring/summer.

OT, Brunswick (Ga.), Scout 100

Demery is what UGA is looking for at OT.  He is big, he has feet, he has length, and he is an in-state kid. Georgia is trending in a BIG way and it is more of when, not if, will Demery become a Bulldog.

DE, Mary Persons (Ga.), Scout 300

Alabama, Clemson, and some others continue to hang around, but Herring is a UGA lean.  He has visited UGA a couple of times already in 2016 and he will be back soon.  He is close with UGA commits and he talks on a regular basis to Richard LeCounte and Jake Fromm.  At this time, Herring is Georgia's to lose.

CB, Hapeville Charter (Ga.), Scout 300

Poole has been VERY CLOSE to announcing he is a Bulldog on multiple occasions and even though he has backed off his plan to commit in April, he is still considered a Georgia lean.  Florida got him on campus for the first time, and they did a great job, so that clouded his mind a little, but Georgia is still his home state school, it is still the school he grew up cheering for, it is the school he is most comfortable at, and Georgia is still in a very good place.

ATH, Oakland (Tenn.), Scout 100

Georgia is targeting Stevens at safety and Stevens is VERY HIGH on the Dawgs.  It is not just him, but his family loves the Dawgs and the new coaching staff as well.  Stevens at this time says he wants to ride the process out until signing day before he makes a decision, but do not be surprised if that changes.  He loves Mel Tucker, Kirby Smart, and the Dawgs have jumped to the top of the list for this former LSU commit.
