Kirby Not Happy w/ Run Game

ATHENS - Kirby Smart’s first scrimmage as head coach, and he wasn’t happy with the run game.

"We have to show the ability to run,” he said. “We didn’t run the ball efficiently today. We have a situation at running back, but we didn’t do well with that. The situation made it tough, but we didn’t run well.”

On the other hand, the coach said he was please with the passing game.

“Greyson and Brice worked with the No. 1 unit about 50/50,” Smart said. “We did throw the ball efficiently - the 60 to 70% range. We didn’t have some good explosive passes on the defense. They both led the offensive unit and scored at times. For Jacob, he was a little nervous early, but he did some good things. I think the No. 3 offense had some big plays on the No. 3 defense. The No. 3 made some explosive plays.”

Smart mentioned that UGA might change some players’ positions in the near future.

“We might take a look at some guys at different positions moving forward,” he said.
