Williams: Kirby a General

Jamyest Williams has been on the scene in recruiting for some time now in Georgia.

But he’s entering his senior season, and trying to figure out his college choices. He told Chad Simmons earlier this week that he will be in Athens for G Day on Saturday.

“Basically for me is to see how Kirby reacts to his new role as general,” Williams said.

Williams, a firecracker of a player listed at 5-9, 170, has visited a slew of schools this spring including Clemson, Florida State, Tennessee and others, but he’s been seen in Athens at least twice.

Insiders think Williams’ recruiting will come down to a fight between the Bulldogs, Tigers and Seminoles. One thing that could give Georgia an advantage is Williams’ relationship with UGA defensive backs coach Mel Tucker.

“I want to watch my man Coach Tuck do his thing as DB coach,” Williams said. “I want to see how his DB's react to his style of coaching.”
