Jalen Green, 2018, CB, Reagan (TX):
Not many prospects in any class have had a spring quite like Green has. The athletic corner has earned offers from major programs all month, with one being from Georgia. Green has decent size for a corner at 6-foot-1 168-pounds, and has the frame to add more muscle.
What stands out the most when watching film is his ball skills. Green does a nice job of staying with his receiver down field, and always has a chance to intercept a pass if it comes his way. Even if he doesn’t come down with the catch, he finds a way to know the ball away.
It doesn’t seem like Green has an elite category about his game, but he is a solid cover corner who breaks well on the ball and makes plays on the football when it’s around. The Houston native also claims offers from Michigan, Florida, Oklahoma, LSU, Florida, and Notre Dame. Look for this 2018 star to be one of the top corner prospects in Texas next season.
Dylan Wonnum, 2018, OL, Stephenson (GA):
Another talented lineman from Georgia for 2018 is Stephenson’s Wonnum. The 6-foot-5 289-pound rising junior had an impressive sophomore campaign last season, and carried it over into the spring. Wonnum impressed at the Atlanta Opening in Buford two months ago, and many coaches have flocked to Stone Mountain to get a closer look.
On film Wonnum looked impressive in run blocking. At his tackle position he does a nice job of crashing down and blocking a defensive tackle when needed, and opened massive holes for the backs all season. He has good length and was able to get his hands on the defenders quickly in order to twist them inside or outside to create holes. He is not the biggest lineman out there, but he does have the size to play at the next level, and the versatility to play either guard or tackle at the next level.
Ohio State, Florida, Tennessee, Missouri, South Carolina, LSU, and now the Georgia Bulldogs have offered one of the best lineman prospects in Georgia for the 2018 class.
Greg Emerson, 2018, DL, North Side (TN):
What a week its’ been for Tennessee native Greg Emerson. The 6-foot-4 275-pound defensive end has picked up offers from Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Texas A&M all this week.
On film it doesn’t look like Emerson is super quick off the line, but he runs well sideline to sideline and really knows how to lay a big hit once he gets there. He has good speed for his size, and can overpower smaller lineman on a consistent basis.
Michigan State, Ole Miss, and Oregon have also offered Emerson, who is one of the hottest recruits in the state right now. Look for more offers to come his way as Emerson is bound for a monster junior season in 2016.
