— Do not read into the noise around Jacoby Stevens and he not listing UGA in his top three recently. He lives UGA — UGA likes him. He will be back in Athens again this summer and I still see UGA as a real contender. He is still likely to make his decision later this summer and UGA is still my pick as of today.
— Speaking of picks... Trevor Lawrence is closing in on a decision and he may have taken his last unofficial visit before he does so. Clemson had him on campus this week, UGA has him on campus last weekend — it is those two, then Tennessee in third with Florida trying to hang around. I will be shocked if he is not a Tiger or Bulldog by the middle of July. It would not shock me to see Lawrence commit later this month — he is that close. There is some real momentum with Georgia right now, but Clemson is right there.
— I have been posting for a while about UGA in a good spot with Scout 100 DE Robert Beal. He cancelled his trip to Notre Dame this weekend, he is likely not visiting anyone next week, and Georgia is trending in a big way behind the scenes here. I said on here earlier in the week that I expect him to make a decision by the middle of July — it could come a little sooner. He is one I would watch closely in the coming weeks.
— Georgia made a big impression on Isaiah Wilson and those close to him last weekend. I am hearing Pittman really likes Wilson a lot and the prospect out of New York knows it. A lot of top schools are involved, but Georgia has solidified itself right in the thick of this race. He has his spot in this class right now if he wants it.
— A name not many talk about is Leonard Warner. The linebacker out of Brookwood quietly visited UGA a week and a half ago and he is in regular contact with the Dawgs. Georgia likes him as an ILB. They like his size a lot. UGA had Tyler Taylor over for a camp recently too and it seems Warner is higher on their board at this time. I saw Warner a couple of times recently and he is growing on me a little. I would still like to see a little more aggression and thump out of him as a LB, but he appears to be a real target for the Dawgs. He plans to make a decision in August.
— It is still a TIGHT race with Jeremiah Holloman. There is nothing really new here, but he is likely not going to make his decision over the summer now. At least not in June or July. We will see if things accelerate in August. Tennessee has had him on campus a couple of times in recent weeks and they are really working the angle of him and his teammate Jaquan Henderson both playing at UT. Georgia has not offered Henderson. Other schools are involved, but in the end, it still looks like a UT-UGA battle. Shortly after Matt Landers committed to Georgia, Holloman talked to Coley and he was assured his spot with still there.
