Dawg Post 2017 UGA Mock Class 1.0 - QB

ATHENS - Dean Legge and Chad Simmons break down UGA’s mock class for 2016 by position. Today - quarterback.

Projected signees (1): Jake Fromm

This is an easy one. Not much to talk about. Jake Fromm flipped from Alabama to UGA in the spring of 2016. The move showed how powerful a recruiter Kirby Smart can be with the UGA brand behind him. It also helped that failed former offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer had departed - Fromm wasn’t going to play for him.

Getting a top signal caller to commit the year after the No. 2 QB in the country has committed - and taken with him historic fanfare, buzz and hype - is a pretty solid job of selling a prospect who had options (needless to say being committed to Alabama is having options) to come to UGA.

There’s virtually no way UGA takes another QB in this class, but at some point the Bulldogs are going to have to double up on a class of signal callers. That seems pretty unlikely in 2017 and 2018. But that’s going to have to be addressed at some point. Having three scholarship QBs is too few to effectively run a program.
