Dawg Post 2017 UGA Mock Class 1.0 - RB

ATHENS - Dean Legge and Chad Simmons break down UGA’s mock class for 2016 by position. Today - running back.

Projected signees (2):

Committed:  None

Who else:  D'Andre Swift and Toneil Carter

Word on the street is that UGA is in very good position to sign two of the top three RBs on their board. Getting Cam Akers seems like tough slog at this point. But signing both D'Andre Swift and Toneil Carter seems more likely than not… at least for right now.

The Bulldogs need depth at this position, but they also need some firepower. If they could add Swift he would provide them the typical power-pack-like body we’ve grown accustomed to seeing in the league. Swift has good wiggle and seems to have the vision necessary to succeed in the SEC. Carter is a speed back with good cutback ability.

Swift is considered the No. 29 overall player in the country while Carter is considered the No. 70 prospect in the nation. Both are considered four-star prospects and both would be out-of-state backs - something the Bulldogs have really had success with over the last ten years (Knowshon Moreno, Todd Gurely, Sony Michel and Keith Marshall).

Getting two backs in one class at RB is a must for the Bulldogs. Getting two prospects as good as Swift and Carter would be excellent recruiting by Kirby Smart and Dell McGee.
