Michael Grant is one of the fastest players in the country for 2004, and he happens to be one of the best defensive backs as well. He is the #9 ranked safety in the country by TheInsiders.com.
Grant spent the summer
running with his Track club and could not attend any camps as a result, but that
has not caused any shortage of schools looking to sign him for track as well as
for football. The speedster has more offers than he could count off to me, but
only a lucky 5 have made the cut to this point.
"Tennessee, Florida, Georgia, Miami, and Arkansas are my final five. All
of them have great track programs as well as football, and that's what I'm
really interested in."
Grant had a record setting summer and improved upon every one of his times in
his three events.
"I ran a 10.47 100m, a 20.88 200m, and a 45.6 400m."
The Stephenson Jaguars lost a ton of talent off of their 2002 squad, but with
players like Josh Johnson, Michael Grant, and Raeshon Ball, the cupboard is
still plenty full. They should be one of the favorites in 7AAAAA for 2003.
