The Bulldogs hosted two solid defenders from T.L Hanna High School (SC) on Sunday. 2019 defensive end Zacch Pickens and 2018 defensive tackle Stephon Wynn hung out and spent time with coaches, but did not participate in the workouts. The coaches must like them a lot, as both picked up offers from Georgia after the camp.
The 6-foot-3 245-pound Pickens looked a little banged up during the camp, and stood to the side interacting with multiple support staff members and recruits on the golf cart. Wynn certainly looks the part as well at 6-foot-4 254-pounds, but needs to continue putting on solid weight. Clemson and South Carolina have offered both prospects as well. These are two lineman who will continue to receive national attention over the next two years.
Another T.L Hanna product had a good showing in Athens last Sunday. Kavez Sherard is a four-star offensive tackle at 6-foot-5 297-pounds and currently holds offers from Clemson, Tennessee, South Carolina, Duke, and North Carolina. The Bulldogs did not offer on Sunday, but Sherard was able to speak with offensive line coach Sam Pittman a little bit. Sherard does not know much about the Georgia football program, but another visit in the future would not surprise me. Sherard should be one of the top tackle prospects in South Carolina in 2018.
Another 2018 offensive lineman having a big summer is Houston County (GA) Deontrey Hill. Hill is one of the top guard prospects in Georgia, and he recently picked up his 16th offer from LSU. Clemson, Tennessee, Georgia, Auburn, among others have offered as well. At 6-foot-4 335-pounds, Hill has a wide base and a very strong lower body. He camped in front of Georgia coaches last month, and the Bulldogs are in a good position right now for the middle Georgia lineman. Hill is also a current teammate of Georgia commit Jake Fromm.
Chrisitan Meadows is another 2018 lineman who has had a busy week. The Macon County (GA) offensive guard has had a big summer, picking up his first offer from FSU just weeks after being named the top overall performer at the Lassiter MVP camp. Meadows took a quick visit to Florida State yesterday and will be camping at Florida on Saturday. Look for more teams to start showing strong interest in the four-star lineman.
2018 tight end prospect Jeremy Ruckert visited Georgia today and left with an offer. The 6-foot-5 220-pounder from Lindenhurst SHS (NY) also holds offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Florida, Ohio State, among others.
