UGA Ranked No. 16 by Coaches

ATHENS - UGA checked in as the No. 16 in the country heading into Kirby Smart’s first season as head coach according to the USA Today Coaches' Poll.

Its the highest season-opening ranking for any new head coach in UGA history. The Bulldogs perviously opened a season ranked No. 16 in 1992 - a 10-2 season that culminated with a Citrus Bowl win over Ohio State.

Smart’s program enters the season with a slew of question marks including who will start at quarterback and injuries at running back. Compounding matters for UGA, the Bulldogs take on No. 20 North Carolina, No. 12 Ole Miss and No. 10 Tennessee in the first five games of the season. The Bulldogs also have their annual rivalry with the Gators, who check in at No. 25.
