Kirby Expects Holyfield to Play

ATHENS - Elijah Holyfield is expected to play against North Carolina, according to his coach Kirby Smart.

“It's not a major ankle,” Smart told 960 The Ref’s David Johnston on Monday night. “It’s not a high ankle. It's not as bad as Charlie Woerner's was. We think he'll be back by the end of the week. He's out there pushing on it right now. It's not a major deal.”

That’s good news for a UGA running back corp which is struggling at the top with returns from injuries. Nick Chubb appears ready to start the game against the Tar Heels, but Sony Michel’s play seems up in the air.

Smart told the Athens TD Club that Michel was the only running back who is “questionable” heading into that game.
