Dawg Post Insider Practice Report

ATHENS - Andrew Stephens' report from Georgia's practice on Wed.

-When Ledbetter returns, the DLine could be very solid. Plenty of young talent. Thompson, Barnett, Carter, Clark, Rochester, Ledbetter, Marshall are all sophomores or younger

-Michail Carter working with the second unit today

-John Atkins no longer in non contact jersey

-Business as usual, this group is deep

-A bit of a surprise, but D'Andre Walker was running with the 3rd unit

-Juwan Briscoe no longer in non contact jersey

-Quincy Mauger working with the 3rd team for the second straight day

-Aaron Davis seems to have taken Quincy Mauger's spot at safety alongside Dominick Sanders

-Hard to not spend time near Sam Pittman. Easy to see why he's regarded as the best OLine coach in the country - non stop electricity

-67 in a non contact jersey

-Kirby's words seemed to light a fire under Ben Cleveland. Pittman has been high on him the last 2 practices

-Offensive line working on cut blocking again

-Pittman praising Charlie Woerner multiple times for good effort

-Tight ends working on receiving primary as opposed to blocking in media session

-Sony still in non contact jersey

-Chubb doesn't even have a knee brace on

-Holyfield in full pads, still on the bike

-QBs working on roll outs and bootlegs

-QBs working only with receivers, unable to gauge depth, all throwing to all WRs

-Sam Vaughn working as scout team QB

-Riley Ridley may be the unsuspecting star at WR the Dawgs need

-Michael Chigbu also looking much more versatile than first appeared - has skill working on deep balls, not just shorter routes

-A lot of individual drill work - tough to see a lot of depth charts today

-1st team defense seems to run a 2-4-5 while the second team defense works in a 3-3-5

-Kirby to guys not giving 100%: "Nobody thinks it matters until you get your ass beat"
