Dawg Post Friday Update:

Dawg Post shows you where top Georgia commits and targets will be playing tonight.

Westlake at Cartersville

For Georgia fans, this is definitely a game to watch for tonight. Georgia commit Jaden Hunter and Clemson commit AJ Terrell head north to play a strong Cartersville team led by five-star quarterback Trevor Lawrence. This might be the toughest task of the season for the Hurricanes, who are looking to win a second straight state championship this year.

Westlake is 1-1 on the season after a game-shortened loss to Langston Hughes earlier this season. This defense is a talented group and should be fun to watch. For Cartersville, running back Trey Creamer and athlete Avery Showell are to big weapons for Lawrence. The Hurricanes defense has dominated opponents so far this season, and have a knack for creating big plays and turnovers. Cartersville opened the season with a 30-14 win over Allatoona and put a pounding on Calhoun last week 56-0.

Roswell vs. Colquitt County

A matchup many were expecing all offseason, the top ranked Roswell Hornets play Colquitt County in a rematch of last year's state championship game. Colquitt is definitly not the same team it was last year, and has started the season 0-3. Roswell on the other hand, has started the season strong and looks even better than they did last year. It's state championship or bust for the Hornets this season.

Notable Roswell players: DB Xavier McKinney, DB LeAnthony Williams, WR Corey Reed, among others

Colquitt County natable players: TE John Samuel Shenker and OLB JJ Peterson.

Houston County at Veterans

Georgia QB commit Jake Fromm leads to the Bears to Kathleen (GA) to play rival Veterans. Fromm leads the state in passing right now, and has two solid receivers to throw to in Amari Colbert and Eli Watson. The two have combined for 33 catches for 761 yards and 10 touchdowns through the first three games. The offensive line is also a solid group led by four-star guard prospect Trey Hill. The massive 6-foot-4 333-pound junior is being heavily recruited by Georgia, Auburn, Florida, among others.

Veterans is led by three-star receiver Jeremy Horton. The 2018 speedster is not a big name just yet, but he has shined at multiple camps this off-season. He showed great quickness and reliable hands as well.

Pace Academy vs Thomson

Georgia commits Andrew Thomas and Trey Blount host four-star defensive back Christian Tutt and Thomson (GA). Pace Academy is 2-0 on the season with wins over West Forsyth and Hapeville Charter. The games were both low scoring, but those are two good teams that Pace beat. Thomson is 3-0 on the season with wins over Laney, Effingham County, and Jefferson. Christian Tutt will go up against Trey Blount, and that should be a fun match-up to watch. Tutt is the top ranked cornerback prospect in the state for the 2018 class..

2018 five-star lineman Jamaree Salyer is another top prospect in the game. It's certainly possible that he could play on both sides on the line along with Thomas if needed. Salyer is a major Bulldog target in the 2018 class.

Cedar Grove at Columbia

Georgia OL commits Justin Shaffer and Netori Johnson take their 1-1 Cedar Grove team to Decatur tonight vs 1-2 Columbia. 2019 WR Jadon Haselwood is another Cedar Grove player to watch. Haselwood has the chance to be a five-star prospect down the road and is certainly on Georgia's radar.

Wesleyan vs. Hapeville Charter

Wesleyan QB Banks Ramsey is off to a great start this season with 567 yards and 7 touchdowns through the first two games. Georgia commit William Poole leads the Hapeville defense along with four-star defensive back Christopher Smith.

Newton vs Peachtree Ridge

Notable players for Newton: WR target Jeremiah Holloman and three-star running back Nuru Tinch.
