Jason Butt of the Macon Telegraph broke the news on Monday that the UGA-Virginia game will be played Monday, Sept. 7, 2020 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. That’s Labor Day night. The Bulldogs haven’t played on Labor Day since the 1982 night matchup with Clemson, a 13-7 UGA win.
According to Butt’s reporting, “both teams will wear home uniforms with Georgia wearing red and Virginia donning blue. Virginia agreed to purchase 30,000 tickets for just under $4.6 million, with Peach Bowl Inc., the group that runs the Chick-Fil-A Kickoff Game, paying Virginia a minimum of $4 million plus 100 hotel rooms.”
Its unknown when Florida State and West Virginia, who are expected to play another Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game in 2020, will play on Saturday night that year.
