Dawg Post Monday Update:

Dawg Post takes a look at some of the top high school players in Georgia.

Dawg Post was at the Marietta/Lassiter game this weekend to check out one of the state's top quarterbacks, as well as one of the top defensive backs.

Marietta freshman quarterback Harrison Bailey was up against one of the top secondary's in Georgia, and showed a strong arm very that many senior quarterbacks would envy. Bailey was 18-32 on the night for 237 yards with a touchdown and an interception. He also had a one-yard rushing touchdown to start the game. He did over throw a couple guys, but it's clear the talent was there. He definitely looks the part at 6-foot-4 195-pounds and he will continue to grow over the years. He has an air of confidence way above his age, and showed good accuracy on short and medium throws. Bailey currently does not have a Georgia offer, but he certainly should have one already. I think it'only a matter of time before the Bulldogs pull the  trigger. Alabama, Miami, Florida, LSU,Tennessee, among others have offered the freshman. He certainly has the look of a future five-star quarterback in the 2020 class. Bailey plans to visit Oklahoma in two weeks.

Another player who impressed was Marietta receiver Ramel Keyton. The 2019 pass  catcher has great size for his age at 6-foot-2 188 and showed great athleticism on a 51-yard touchdown that was called back. Keyton leaped over the defender to catch the ball at it's highest point and held onto the ball once landing in the end-zone. He also made a great diving catch for a 30-yard gain in the first half. He caught the ball well over his head, and was able to get separation multiple times against a very good Lassiter defense.

Speaking of the Lassiter defense, they did a very good job once again defending the pass. Marietta has a great passing attack, and the duo of Derrik Allen and Tyriq Hardimon made sure to completely shut the Blue Devils down in the second half. The 6-foot 194-pound Hardimon committed to California earlier in the day, and was flying all over the field. Allen is a 6-foot-2 203-pound corner who could play any position in the secondary at the next level. He is a solid cover guy right now, but his size at the moment might make him a better safety prospect at the next level. He looks the part and plays physical. The state's top corner prospect for 2018 currently holds offers from Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Clemson, and pretty much everyone else. He is a major Bulldog target in 2018 and he proved why on Friday.

Overall it was a fun game to watch. There was talent all over the field for both teams. Marietta jumped on the undefeated Lassiter Trojans early 14-0, but the Trojans scored the next 21 points to get the victory.
