Dawg Post Friday Update:

Dawg Post takes a look at some of the top high school football games tonight, and update you on where some of Georgia's top targets will be playing.

Roswell at Archer:

This is my top game for tonight. Roswell is arguably the best team in the state and will bring some serious talent to Lawrenceville. Quarterback Malik Willis, committed to Virgina Tech, is a dual threat guy with weapons all over the field. Receiver Corey Reed, committed to Louisville, is a big target who is also an exceptional run blocker. Running back Sheldon Evans is automatic in the running game. The defense is led by Clemson commit LeAnthony Williams and Georgia target Xavier McKinney.

The Archer Tigers are a good team, much better than their 1-3 record. They might have the toughest schedule in the country. They lost their opening game to a talented McEachern team, but then beat Peachtree Ridge on the road 20-19. Losses to Mill Creek, one of the state's best, and Norcross gave the Tigers three early losses. Safety Taiyon Palmer, committed to Duke, is a solid player to watch on the Archer defense.

Other games to watch:

Cedartown vs. Cartersville:

Five-star Trevor Lawrence might not be playing for too long in this one. Lawrence and the Hurricanes have looked great s far this season, and have played as tough schedule as well. Lawrence carved up a talented Westlake defense two weeks ago led by Georgia commit Jaden Hunter and Clemson commit AJ Terrell. This will be a great opportunity for freshman quarterback Tee Webb in the second half. He is a guy who will get big offers in the future. Wake Forest commit Avery Showell has made big plays on both sides of the ball this year, and senior athlete Xavior Coaxum is one of the most underrated players that I've seen in the entire state.

Grayson vs. Ramsay (AL):

The Rams play another out out state opponent in undefeated Ramsay. The Rams have won thee straight game since their loss to IMG Academy, and just beat a very talented Deerfield Beach (FL) team. Senior defensive back DeAngelo Gibbs is a major target for the Bulldogs, along with multiple other Grayson players. Linebacker Owen Pappoe has been dominating in his sophomore season, and will be one of the top players in the country for 2019.

Harrison vs. Allatona:

Should be a fun game to watch for folks in Cobb County. Harrison is undefeated on the season and led by 2018 quarterback Justin Fields. Fields is a 6-foot-3 209-pound dual threat guy who can really play. Tennessee, Penn State, West Virginia, North Carolina, among others have offered so far. Allatoona won the state championship last year, but have not looked the same. This is a big rivalry and the environment there should be fantastic.

Lassiter vs. South Forsyth:

Undefeated Lassiter has one of the top secondaries in the state, led by Georgia target Derrik Allen. The four-star safety in the 2018 class will have plenty of chances to make plays against a pass-heavy South Forsyth offense. The War Eagles are 3-1, and are led by quarterback Davis Shanley, who is committed to Western Kentucky.
