Dawg Post Practice Report

ATHENS - Andrew Stephens' news and notes from Monday's practice.

Typical Monday practice, but a bit more energy than I was anticipating. Looks like they've forgotten Ole Miss and are looking ahead to a game that will define the SEC East. I will be live from Facebook (Georgia Bulldogs on Scout) in about 20 minutes to talk Kirby's press conference, practice recap, and general thoughts on the Dawgs moving forward. Tune in. Today's practice went as follows:

DEFENSIVE LINE

-No more knee brace on John Atkins. He looks good. That's gonna be needed moving forward.

-Great energy today. Rocker not letting this team get down on themselves. Telling them to answer the challenge.

LINEBACKERS

-King of the drills, these guys.

-Going to need sideline to sideline work from inside and outside LBs to contain the RPO (Run-Pass Option) of Tennessee.

SECONDARY

-Kirby loud and proud with his secondary members again. "I NEED YOU TO PLAY HARDER"

-Depth charts not seen today, but I'd expect to see a lot more first team work from DeAndre Baker and Mecole Hardman. Not necessarily to start, but Kirby realizing that younger guys need to step up and gain experience.

OFFENSIVE LINE

-Working on double team blocking. The word 'leverage' may have been said 700 times today by Pittman and offensive line assistants

TIGHT ENDS

-Working on route running, crispness on breaks.

RUNNING BACKS

-Elijah Holyfield the only RB with a concussion proof protection on the top of his helmet

QUARTERBACKS

-Greyson Lambert running with the ones. I'm totally joking, but I get a mild amount of entertainment in the fact that one Porch member nearly just had a heart attack

WIDE RECEIVERS

-Kenneth Towns on the bike today.

-Secondary and wide receivers working on 1 vs 1 match ups
