Dawg Post Thursday Recruiting Update:

Dawg Post takes a look at some of the state's best games tomorrow night, as well as a few visitors for Georgia's game against Vanderbilt this weekend.

Games to watch:

Pace Academy at Cedar Grove:

Four total Georgia commits will be playing in this one, two for both teams. The 4-2 Pace Academy Knights are led but future Bulldogs Trey Blount and Andrew Thomas. 2018 lineman Jamaree Salyer is one of the best in the country, and the Bulldogs are sitting in a great position at the moment. Senior back Deon Jackson also brings some explosiveness to the offense, and is committed to the Duke Blue Devils. Cedar Grove (4-2) is another talented team including Georgia offensive line commits Netori Johnson and Justin Shaffer. Both are massive in size and just what Sam Pittman is looking for on the offensive line. Senior Tre Shaw is UNC defensive back commit who can make big plays on defense and in the return game. Sophomore Jadon Haselwood is one of the most exploive receivers in the state regardless of class. He is already a major target for the Bulldogs in 2019.

Brunswick vs. Glynn Academy:

Former Bulldog commit Deejay Dallas leads a strong 5-1 Glynn Academy team against Georgia commit D'antne Demery and rival Brunswick. The Pirates are 3-2 and feature receiver Shawn Smith on offense. Smith is a speedster who can get behind the defenders downfield. Smith was previously committed to South Carolina but is now open in his recruitment.

Marietta at Hillgrove:

Freshman quarterback Harrison Bailey is already one of the state's best passers, and leads the 4-3 Blue Devils against rival Hillgrove. The 3-3 Hillgrove Hawks have a great 2019 safety Jaylen McCollough on defense, as well as a reliable receiver in Chigoziem Okonkwo. Should be a fun game to watch in a great atmohpere for folks in Cobb County.

Recruiting news:

I've been told 2018 athlete Kyler McMichael will be visiting Georgia this weekend. McMichael is a prospect I really like, and the future defensive back has rushed for 700 yards and 9 touchdowns through the team's first 6 games. The 6-foot-1 187-pound junior is a four-star prospect in the 2018 class, and ranked as the second-best safety prospect in the state. He has recently visited Tennessee and Auburn, so this is a big visit for Georgia moving forward.

Georgia commits Andrew Thomas, Trey Blount, and William Poole will also be in Athens for the game.

2018 offensive lineman Chrisitan Meadows also plans to visit Georgia this weekend. Meadows recruitment really got going this summer after an impressive performance at the MVP camp. He is currently committed to Florida State, and the Bulldogs have not offered as of today. The four-star guard prospect worked out in Athens in front of the staff late this summer, so the coaches already have a good read on him. Meadows is ranked as the fourth-best guard prospect in Georgia for the 2018 class.

2020 DB Rashad Torrence also told me he will visit Georgia this weekend. You will hear more about the Carrollton (GA) athlete over the next few years. He is a good looking prospect for a freshman.
