"We did what we wanted to do offensively to help the defense as far as having a good time of possession and not having many 3 and outs. My biggest concern was the defense getting fatigued," said Richt.
As it turned out, heat and conditioning was not a problem and Georgia's defense dominated.
Still Richt was not pleased with Georgia's overall effort against the Tigers.
"I was not as excited about the game after watching it on film as I was right after the game yesterday," he said.
"It's always great to win a game like that by that score. But if you look at the tape we just missed a lot of opportunities and we had a lot of missed assignments."
"Things that we practiced over and over; and guys are blocking the wrong people. There were some things that were very frustrating to watch," he said.
"The good news is that we can certainly improve and get a lot better. I am just curious why some of these guys did what they did when it was so obvious about a particular front," said the disappointed head coach.
Richt said that the missed assignments would not likely result in position changes.
"There may be a change here or there," he said.
"If we are going to be as good someday as I want us to be, we are going to have to make a lot of improvements."
