Dawg Post Monday Recruiting Update:

Dawg Post takes a look at some up and coming recruits from Hapeville Charter, home of 2016 Georgia commit William Poole.

Hapeville Charter, home to Georgia commit William Poole, has quite a few players that will see their recruitment pick up soon. 2018 defensive back Christopher Smith is already a major target for programs like Georgia, Auburn, and South Carolina, but there are more players to know as well.

Following Poole and Smith, the next cornerback to know out of Hapeville is Caleb Vaughn. The junior DB has good size at 6-foot-1 190-pounds, and racked up 47 tackles with 6 pass breakups, and two interceptions. He’s being recruited by Indiana, Vanderbilt, Colorado State, and Wake Forest.

Outside linebacker Caleb Kelly is another name to know. Another junior, Kelly is 6-foot-3 215-pounds and recorded 82 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, and 10.5 sacks on the season. Kelly is being recruited by Vanderbilt, Virginia, Georgia Tech, and South Florida.

A receiver to know out of Hapeville is Rory Starkey. At 6-foot-1 217-pounds, Starkey totaled 45 catches for 927 yards and 12 touchdowns this past season. Wake Forest, Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt, and South Carolina are all showing strong interest at the moment. He has the potential to start earning some major offers this offseason.

Quarterback Haji-Malik Williams also had a productive 2016 season this past fall. Williams threw for 2,788 yards and 32 touchdowns while rushing for another 786 yards. He is a dual threat type quarterback who is could also see his recruitment pick up soon.

I’ve been told coaches from Georgia, Indiana, South Florida, Colorado State, Wake Forest, Arkansas, Southern California, N.C State, and Georgia Tech all came by the school to see players before the dead period.

Other recruiting notes:

IMG Academy tackle Reuben Unije tells me he “might” visit Georgia and a few other schools in the coming weeks.

Aqinas WR Justin Gibbs, Roswell receiver Christian Ford, and Grady athlete Jaylen Rivers both picked up offers from Ball State recently.

5-star tackle prospect Walker Little recently committed to Stanford, and 5-star defensive back Lamont Wade committed to Penn State.
